Vendor killed by men on motorcycle

MANILA, Philippines–A sidewalk vendor was killed as she was playing bingo with her neighbors on Sunday afternoon in Quezon City.

Candelaria Carpo, 64, was attacked right in her neighborhood at the MRB compound on Pilot Drive in Barangay (village) Commonwealth. The victim later died at East Avenue Medical Center due to gunshot wounds in the face and neck.

Case investigator SPO1 Jaime Jimena said the attack was carried out by two motorcycle-riding men wearing helmets. The incident happened around 4 p.m. on Sunday in front of one of the MRB buildings as the victim and her neighbors were playing bingo.–Julie M. Aurelio
