MANILA, Philippines—The Department of Justice (DOJ) has relieved two doctors from the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) after approving the confinement of convicted drug lord Ricardo Camata.

In a Department Order released Monday, ordered relieved were Dr. Gloria Achazo-Garcia, acting head of the NBP hospital; Dr. Ma. Cecilia Villanueva, medical specialist 1 of the NBP.

Aside from the two, ordered relieved from his post was Prison Superintendent Gabriel Magan.

“The Director, Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) is directed to immediately effect the relief of the said personnel and designate their temporary replacement in order not to hamper the operation of the NBP Hospital,” Justice Secretary Leila De Lima said.

Camata, alias Chacha, a convicted drug lord and leader of the Sigue-Sigue Sputnik gang was taken to the Metropolitan Hospital in Manila last month due to lung ailment. Starlet Krista Miller and television dancers were among his visitors. Miller said she only visited Camata to sell him a condominium unit.
