MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.5 earthquake jolted Surigao del Norte on Tuesday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said in a bulletin that the quake struck 14 kilometers north of Claver town at 5:16 p.m. It had a depth of 13 kilometers.
Intensity IV was felt in Surigao City while intensity III was recorded in Dinagat Island and Butuan City.
Phivolcs said no aftershocks were expected.
