MANILA, Philippines — Around 20 members of the Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas slipped through security and staged a rally at the lobby of the House of Representatives on Tuesday.

The activists called for the scrapping of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program, which they claimed had worsened landlessness in the country.

They also said farmers are being murdered in their cause for genuine agrarian reform.

Behind the farmers were militant lawmakers ACT Teachers Rep. Antonio Tinio, Bayan Muna Rep. Carlos Zarate, and Anakpawis Rep. Fernando Hicap.

They staged the rally just near the plenary hall where lawmakers were holding regular session.
