3 women found dead in Nueva Vizcaya

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya—Three women were found dead on the banks of the Magat River in Bambang town in Nueva Vizcaya province, police said.

Chief Insp. Rafael Pagalilauan, Bambang police chief, said the three women, who have yet to be identified, each sustained several bullet wounds.
Two of the victims were found lying close together, while the third woman was found about 10 meters away, he said.
“They do not have their personal belongings with them, like their wallets or identification cards, so there is no way for us at the moment to determine their identities,” Pagalilauan said.
The faces of two victims were mangled from bullet wounds, he added.
Police said residents first reported seeing the bodies about 150 meters from the highway in Barangay Indiana, Bambang, at 5:45 a.m.
“We also have accounts of locals that they heard several gunshots ring out from the same area at around 2 a.m.,” Pagalilauan said, which, according to him, could indicate that the women were killed near where their bodies were found.
Investigators also found food packaging and empty bottles and cans of beer scattered near the bodies.
