Pedicab driver mauled, stabbed to death in Navotas City

MANILA, Philippines — A pedicab driver was killed after two men attacked him near his house in Navotas City early on Monday morning.

The Navotas Police identified the victim as Robert Millapiz, 32, while the two suspects, still at large, were only identified by the aliases Ewok and Raymond.

The killing happened around 12:30 a.m. on Monday, only a few steps away from Millapiz’s house at Daang Banco, Tabing Dagat Street, Barangay (village) San Roque, Navotas City.

Police reports showed that the victim was walking home when he was confronted by the two suspects. Suddenly, the two suspects then mauled the victim, while also taking turns to stab him repeatedly. The suspects fled after the attack.

Millapiz’s wife and other bystanders brought him to the Navotas Lying-in Emergency Clinic, but was later rushed to the Tondo Medical Center, where he died of his injuries about two hours later.

The police have yet to properly identify the victims and determine the motive for the attack.
