DepEd: No suspension of classes in Metro due to transport strike
MANILA, Philippines—The Department of Education has announced that classes in all levels will not be suspended despite the public transportation strike to be launched by a jeepney group on Monday.
“The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) assured the DepEd that they have enough personnel to keep peace and order,” the DepEd said in its media advisory on Sunday.
Alternative transportation will also be made available by the MMDA and 5,000 police officers will assist the commuters, according to the DepEd.
