Cebu water firm says supply to fall soon

12:11 AM June 07, 2014

CEBU CITY—This city is projected to lose water supply equivalent to 16 Olympic-sized swimming pools every day starting June 30 as a result of the El Niño phenomenon which weather scientists said would be worse than that of 2010.

Lasaro Salvacion, manager for environment and water resources of the Metro Cebu Water District (MCWD), said MCWD was now preparing for a reduction of the city’s water supply from 204,000 cubic meters to 164,000 cubic meters. Carmel Loise Matus, Inquirer Visayas
