2 construction workers kidnapped in Sulu

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines—Two laborers working in a construction project of Sulu Vice Governor Abdusakur Tan were kidnapped in that province on Thursday.

Senior Supt. Abraham Orbita, Sulu police chief, said the victims were abducted in the boundary of the villages of Timbangan and Kan Islam in Indanan town shortly before 8 a.m. Thursday.

A police report identified the victims as Romigio Lingayan and Joselito Gonzales, both residents of Zamboanga City. They were abducted by at least 15 unidentified armed men.

The victims were on board a Tamaraw vehicle coming from Maimbung town and bound for Jolo town when they were flagged down by the armed men, who and dragged them into another vehicle.
