Did you know? Dengue Awareness Month

The month of June has been declared Dengue Awareness Month in the Philippines. From Jan. 1 to May 3, a total of 19,406 cases were reported nationwide, according to data from the Department of Health’s National Epidemiology Center. This was 51.15 percent lower compared to the same period last year. Of the total, 9.68 percent or 1,879 cases were from the National Capital Region. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
