‘Salvage’ victim found in front of church
MANILA, Philippines–A half-naked woman believed to be a victim of summary execution was dumped in front of a church in Quezon City before dawn on Monday. She was apparently strangled and stabbed with a screwdriver which remained stuck in her side.
Dressed only in her underwear, the suspected “salvage” victim was described as between 45 and 50 years old, around 5’1” in height, of medium build and with fair skin. She had a tribal tattoo on her back and another of a flower on her chest.
Case investigator SPO1 Pascual Fabreag said the woman was found around 3 a.m. on Monday in front of First Baptist Church of Manila on Road 2 in Project 6.
Residents first noticed the woman wrapped in a green checkered blanket with a green cloth bag over her head, lying on the road. She had been gagged with a pair of black jeans, her hands tied together using a white blouse while her feet were bound with a belt.–Julie M. Aurelio
