Tokyo police hunt serial urine splasher—report

/ 01:52 PM May 28, 2014

TOKYO — Tokyo police are on the hunt for a serial urine splasher after at least six cases in which the liquid was splashed over young women by a motorcyclist, a newspaper said Wednesday.

The first case happened in mid-April in the north of the Japanese capital when a motorcyclist threw a cupful of liquid over a woman on the street, the Asahi Shimbun said.

The color and other features led police to the conclusion that it was urine, the daily said.

Since then, five similar incidents have happened within a 1.5-kilometer (1-mile) radius, it said, citing anonymous investigation sources.

The police believe it is highly likely that the same man was responsible, it said.

All victims were young women — teenage or in their 20s — and the man in a helmet threw liquid at their faces or upper bodies without saying a word, it said.
