Did you know: Chief Justice Cesar Bengzon

Today, May 28, is the 118th birth anniversary of the late Chief Justice Cesar Bengzon. Born in 1896, he became Solicitor General in 1931 and was appointed Chief Justice of the Supreme Court in 1961. Bengzon was named to the International Court of Justice upon his retirement from the high tribunal on May 29, 1966. He died in 1992 at the age of 96.—Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
