MANILA, Philippines—Brigadier General Romeo Gan has assumed office as the new chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Civil Relations Service in a turnover ceremony at Camp Aguinaldo on Tuesday.
Gan replaced Brigadier General Rolando Jungco who retired on the same day after serving for 16 months.
Meanwhile, Brig. Gen. Edmundo Pangilinan was also named as the new commander of the Army’s 6th Infantry Division. He replaced Major General Romeo Gapuz who bowed out of service on Monday.
The 6ID holds jurisdiction of Maguindanao and North Cotabato areas.
Pangilinan was deputy commander of the Western Mindanao Command and concurrent deputy commander for the Peace Process in Western Mindanao before his new post. He also served the 601st Brigade in Tacurong, Sultan Kudarat in the past.
Both newly installed officers are members of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1983.
