A breakfast of pandesal and pancit canton was left uneaten and a concealed pistol unused by a dried fish dealer who was shot and killed at 6 a.m. yesterday by armed robbers in Manila.
After repeatedly shooting the businessman, the suspects commandeered a passenger jeepney and fled.
Jonel Arbulado, 45, of Oroquieta Street in Sta. Cruz, had barely touched his breakfast at an eatery at the corner of Honorio Lopez Boulevard and Kalakal Street in Balut, Tondo, when two men approached him.
Without a word, one of the men repeatedly shot Arbulado in the back of the head while the other grabbed the dried fish dealer’s clutch bag before fleeing.
But they did not take a .45 caliber pistol tucked in the victim’s waist.
Three empty shells and two slugs from a .45 caliber pistol were recovered at the crime scene.
The jeepney was found abandoned at a market in Tugatog, Malabon City. Jeannette I. Andrade
