MANILA, Philippines – A fisherman was killed after he was attacked by a crocodile at a pier in Bataraza town, Palawan, a radio report said.

The report quoted Palawan Philippine Coast Guard Commander Enrico Evangelista as saying the fisherman was diving for sea cucumbers while he was tied in a boat at around 11 p.m. Thursday.

The personnel were then surprised when they saw the fisherman between the crocodile’s teeth.

The Navy personnel shot the crocodile, which left the fisherman’s remains before it escaped.

The town is notorious for crocodile attacks.

In 2011, a fisherman in Bataraza was killed in a crocodile attack with his left leg bitten off and the other almost severed.
