5-year-old girl needs P40K to undergo heart surgery
MANILA, Philippines—Ricamae Presentacion needs to undergo an operation for her congenital heart disease.
The 5-year-old daughter of Leonora Pama is scheduled for surgery next month at Philippine Heart Center to correct the position of the right vein which is wrongfully situated on the left side of the heart and vice versa.
“There is also a hole that needs to be shut as well as a vein that is clogged. The normal flow of blood is affected,” Pama said.
According to her, she wanted her daughter to be immediately operated on, a procedure that would cost P40,000, because her heart condition was preventing her from playing with other children.
Too much excitement was also something that should be avoided.
“It prevents her from enjoying her childhood. I would see her writing and drawing by herself. Doctors even advised us to postpone her schooling because it is dangerous to her health,” she said.
