MANILA, Philippines–Government prosecutors refused the bid of Andrea Rosal, daughter of the late New People’s Army spokesperson Ka Roger to be at the wake of her two-day old daughter.

The government through City Prosecutor Laarni Tagnong told the court that Andrea should only be allowed two hours visit to see her daughter.

Andrea together with Edward Dimalaluan Lanzanas was arrested last March 27 by virtue of an arrest warrant for kidnapping and murder by the Mauban regional trial court. Andrea was seven months pregnant.

Andrea was detained at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig. As of May 15, there, by virtue of a court order, Andrea was allowed to go to the Philippine General Hospital to give birth. She was taken back to Taguig allegedly because there was no room. She returned to PGH on May 16 and gave birth to Diona Andrea a day later.

But the baby died two days after due to lack of oxygen in the blood and suffered seizures.

The baby’s wake is at the Iglesia Filipina Independiente (IFI) in front of PGH where Andrea has been confined.

The baby’s interment will be on May 22 in Ibaan, Batangas.
