MANILA, Philippines — Justice Secretary Leila De Lima will ask the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee to give her a one week extension before she can submit the list and affidavit that Janet Lim Napoles gave her.

“I am going to personally hand over to him [Senator Teofisto Guingona] a letter requesting for a one week extension,” De Lima told reporters Thursday.

Guingona is the chairman of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee.

The Senate issued a subpoena for rehabilitation czar and former senator Panfilo Lacson and De Lima to provide a copy of Napoles’ affidavit.

Lacson has already complied when he submitted a copy of the said list.

De Lima, on her part, said she was still waiting for Napoles’ complete affidavit.

De Lima said she will ask the Senate to allow her to submit the initial affidavit and the complete affidavit together on or before the lapse of the one week extension.
