Teen’s attackers fall
TWO MEN were arrested after they were identified as suspects in the stabbing of a teenager in Navotas City on Tuesday morning. The police identified the suspects as 25-year old Ernesto Llaneras Jr. and a 16-year-old boy, both residents of the city in Carville Homes, Barangay Tanza. They were accused of stabbing the victim, 16-year old Christian Basco, a student and their neighbor. Police reports revealed that the victim was walking home around 1:45 a.m. when the two suspects appeared, stabbed him repeatedly and then fled. The victim’s father found him, however, and rushed him to Tondo Medical Center for treatment. The suspects were later arrested by barangay watchmen who were approached by the victim’s father. ‘Salvage’ victim found
THE BODY of a still unidentified man, possibly a victim of summary execution, was found in the Estero de Quiapo, beside the Islamic Center Compound in Manila on Monday night. Homicide investigator PO2 Crispino Ocampo said that the victim, who was estimated to be between 30 and 35 years old, had stab wounds in the back while his hands were tied with a nylon cord. The body was retrieved from the water with the help of Barangay 648 Zone 7 officials. Ocampo said that residents of the village were not able to identify the victim. Maricar B. Widow shot dead
A MIDDLE-AGED widow was gunned down as she was playing mahjong with her neighbors on Monday afternoon in Quezon City. Marisa Sudario, 43, was shot dead outside her house on Matias Street in Barangay Paltok by a lone motorcycle rider. Case investigator PO2 Alvin Quisumbing said the shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. on Monday outside her house where she and her neighbors were playing mahjong. A man wearing a helmet and brandishing a gun suddenly entered the gate, approached the victim and without any warning, shot her several times. The victim’s daughter Marie sought help from neighbors in bringing her mother to Quezon City General Hospital but Sudario died at 6:05 p.m. Police recovered three casings and a slug from a .45-cal. pistol at the crime scene. Man attempts suicide
Article continues after this advertisementA 36-YEAR-OLD man ended up in critical condition in a hospital after he stabbed himself in the neck in front of his younger sister in Marikina City on Tuesday. Case investigator SPO1 Charles Pacquing Jr. said the victim’s family told them that Stevenson Sevilla could have been high on drugs or feeling overwhelmed by money problems, prompting him to attempt suicide. The incident happened in the victim’s house in Filipinas Village in Barangay Malanday, Marikina City, around 6:30 a.m. yesterday.
