Villar on Napoles ‘pork list’: Unfair, totally baseless

MANILA, Philippines—Former Senator Manny Villar strongly  denied on Tuesday any involvement in the “pork barrel” scam, saying he had no “personal nor official dealings” with alleged mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles.

“I have no personal nor official dealings with Napoles and her bogus NGOs (non-government organizations) ever,” Villar said in a statement.

“It is very unfair,  not to mention totally baseless that my name is being dragged into this issue, which has now become so politicized. It seems like a new list is being drawn every day. I too hope for the truth to come out, which the taxpaying public justly deserves,” he added.

Villar issued the statement after his name appeared on the list  that Napoles through her husband had allegedly given to former senator and now rehabilitation czar Panfilo “Ping” Lacson.

A copy of the alleged “pork” list, along with unsigned affidavit and narration of events,  were submitted by Lacson to the Senate blue ribbon committee.
