Malacañang welcomes Manny Pacquiao

MANILA, Philippines – Malacañang on Saturday welcomed home world champion Manny Pacquiao and expressed eagerness to see the Saranggani lawmaker’s next fight.

“Welcome home Congressman Manny Pacquiao. We are very happy to have you back and we look forward to your next fight,” deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said in a news briefing aired on radio. “And I know the rest of the country will be eagerly awaiting another spectacular match from the Pacman.”

In a text message, Valte said there was no scheduled courtesy call on President Benigno Aquino III by Pacquiao. She said Mr. Aquino had an engagement outside Malacañang until 2 p.m.
