Paulino Agustin, 31, leaped from the third floor of the five-storey Good Shepherd building in BF Homes after firing his shotgun indiscriminately.
Senior Superintendent Ariel Andrade, Parañaque City Police chief, told INQUIRER.net in a phone interview that Agustin was declared dead on arrival by the time he was brought to the Parañaque City Medical Center due to the impact of his fall.
Andrade said the security guard, using his service firearms, fired multiple times at the building interiors.
The responding policemen, who caught him firing, tried to negotiate with Agustin.
“But he immediately jumped off the building as soon as he saw the troops,” Andrade said, indicating that Agustin committed suicide.
The Parañaque police chief added that the victim reportedly had problems with his family, particularly his wife.
Recovered from the scene were Agustin’s service firearms, including a calibre .38 pistol and a shotgun.
