3 fires break out in Metro Manila

MANILA, Philippines–Fire razed an old commercial building in Recto, Manila–the third incident that hit Metro Manila on Wednesday.

A five-storey building in the corner of Recto and Sto. Cristo streets is currently being engulfed by fire. It broke out around 11:30 a.m.

A radio report said the building reportedly houses a factory of paper and plastic.

As of posting time, the fire has been placed under Task Force Alpha.

Earlier Monday, fire erupted at the Army Support Command of the Philippine Army Headquarters in Taguig City at 10:42 a.m.

At least 10 were reported injured in the incident.

In San Juan City, five apartment units in Paraiso Street in Barangay (village) Corazon were razed by fire around 6:15 a.m. Monday.

But the San Juan City Fire Department said no injuries were reported.

The fire, however, damaged an estimated P500,000 worth of properties.

The causes of the three consecutive fire incidents are yet to be determined.
