Parañaque school bags Tesda top prize
MANILA, Philippines—A Parañaque school bagged P1 million worth of scholarship vouchers from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) after winning in its video-making competition.
The United Christian Academy (UCA) College came out on top in the “Tatak Tesda Video Making Contest” aimed at improving the image of graduates of technical and vocational (tech-voc) courses.
The prize was handed out by Tesda Director General Joel Villanueva at the recent awards ceremony that capped the nationwide search for outstanding videos made by students to encourage the youth to consider tech-voc education to achieve better opportunities in life.
The story of Jetson Mabalot, Computer Hardware Servicing NC II student, was the theme of the UCA video which bagged the grand prize as well as the People’s Choice Award.
The Best in Video award, on the other hand, went to Negros Occidental Language and Information Center while the Best in Story award was given to I-link College of Science and Technology.—Ed Margareth Barahan
