1 killed in Batangas bus accident

MANILA, Philippines—After racing with another bus along an expressway in Batangas, a Jam Liner bus flipped on its side on Sunday, killing one passenger and injuring 40 others.

According to a statement from the Malvar Police, the bus carrying 51 passengers with the plate number DXV 571 and being driven by Macario Mendoza went of full speed to outrace a DLTB bus along Star Tollway near Barangay (village) Poblacion.

Authorities rushed 16 of the injured passengers to CP Reyes Hospital, six were brought to Mercado Hospital, both in Tanauan, while the other 18 passengers were brought to Mediatrix Hospital in Lipa.
