Edsa reblocking resumes this weekend

If you don’t want to get stuck in another traffic jam, better skip Edsa this weekend.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on Friday announced the resumption of concrete reblocking activities and other repairs in three areas on Edsa, noting it had secured a clearance from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.

In an advisory, the DPWH said the roadworks were set to start at 10 p.m. last night and would end at 5 p.m. Monday.

The repairs will be on the following sections: The southbound lane of Edsa between Connecticut and Libertad and northbound lane between Temple Drive and United Street in Mandaluyong City; and the northbound (3rd lane) between Quezon Avenue and Landmark.

Apart from Edsa, there will also be repairs on Kamuning Road, between Scout Ybardolaza and Tomas Morato, in Quezon City.

Motorists should avoid these areas and take alternative routes to avoid any inconvenience, the agency said. Jocelyn R. Uy
