Tuason turns over P40M in `pork’ deals

MANILA, Philippines — Government witness Ruby Tuason on Friday turned over to the Office of the Ombudsman P40 million she admitted to have earned from her deals with Janet Lim-Napoles on the pork barrel fund scam.

Tuason personally went to the Office of the Ombudsman to hand over the money in manager’s check. Justice Secretary Leila De Lima was also present.

Tuason is facing plunder complaint on the Malampaya fund scam.

But with the immunity given by Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales, she will no longer be included in PDAF related cases before the Office of the Ombudsman.

A former business partner of Janet Lim-Napoles, Tuason claimed she personally delivered `kickbacks’ to Senator Jinggoy Estrada and to the chief of staff of Senator Juan Ponce

The P40 million came from properties she sold when she left for the US last March.

Tuason is the former social secretary of former President Joseph Estrada
