MANILA, Philippines – President Benigno Aquino III earned P1.3 million pesos in his latest statement of assets and liabilities net worth (SALN), Inquirer Radio 990AM reported on Friday.

The report quoted Aquino himself who was interviewed in Tagbilaran, Bohol for the launching of the province’s laboratory project that would uplift Bohol since it was ravaged by a 7.2 magnitude earthquake in 2013.

The 53-year-old bachelor, in the report, said the increase in net worth in 2013 was due to his cash on hand and stocks.

In his 2012 SALN, Aquino declared a P65.13 million net worth, no different from his income in 2011.

This would mean the president has at least P66.4 million in net worth in 2013.

In his 2010 SALN, Aquino declared a P54.9 million net worth.

However, the president said he expects his net worth to go down due to his debts to his sisters for the purchase of his clothes and other accessories.

The salary of a president is pegged at P120,000 per month.

The Office of the Ombudsman has set the deadline for the filing of government officials’ SALNs on April 30.

The law requires government officials and employees to submit declarations under oath of their assets, liabilities, net worth, as well as financial and business interests including those of their spouses and of unmarried children under 18 years of age.
