MANILA, Philippines – A former head of the Commission on Audit (COA) on Wednesday pleaded not guilty before the Sandiganbayan on the crime of plunder, Radyo Inquirer 990AM said.
The report said former COA chief Reynaldo Villar, 72, entered his not guilty plea on charges that he misused P366 million of confidential and intelligence funds under the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
Villar was arrested Thursday, April 24, by agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).
One of his co-accused in the plunder case is former president and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
