MANILA, Philippines – There’s no word yet on a wage increase for the National Capital Region, but in the meantime, workers in the metropolis will get to ride the Light Rail Transit (LRT) and the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) for free on Labor Day (May 1).
Radyo Inquirer 990AM reported that employees will get free rides on the LRT Lines 1 and 2 and the MRT Line 3 on Thursday from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in commermoration of the Philippines’ 112th Labor Day.
The free rides may be availed by both government and private employees. They will have to present their government or company ID at the service gate of the train station before being given a boarding pass.
