MANILA, Philippines – A 5.4-magnitude earthquake jolted off the coast of Ilocos Norte on Monday morning, with aftershocks expected, the state seismologist said.
According to the latest quake bulletin of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the quake shook 169 kilometers northwest of Burgos at 8:43 a.m.
The quake has a depth of 34 kilometers.
Phivolcs reported an itensity two tremor in Laoag city, Ilocos Norte.
The agency warned of aftershocks due to the quake. But no damage is expected, Phivolcs said.
