MANILA, Philippines—A 4.6 magnitude earthquake jolted Surigao del Norte Thursday noon but no aftershocks are expected, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
The tremor was recorded 28 kilometers southeast of General Luna at 12:49 p.m.
The tectonic quake had a depth of 26 kilometers, and it was felt in the following areas:
Inensity IV – General Luna, Surigao del Norte
Intensity III – Burgos, Surigao del Norte
Intensity II – Surigao City; Socorro, Surigao del Norte
Intensity I – Loreto, Dinagat Province
No immediate damage had also been recorded from the earthquake.
