Ben Granali, the oldest community journalist in Biliran, died on Good Friday from complications of pneumonia at a hospital in Ormoc City, Leyte province. He was 87.
Apart from writing for The Biliran Clarion in the late 1980s, Granali contributed columns and articles to the regional Leyte-Samar Weekly Express in the 1990s and EV Mail into the new century.
He is survived by five children, their spouses, and more than a dozen grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His wife Matea Paculan and daughter Vijaya had died ahead of him.
He was buried at the Naval public cemetery on April 22.
