THE MULTI-TITLED M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala-Cebu Niños will be playing host to three squads from the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) in the Cebu City Invitational Games, which is slated to start on Sept. 23 at the Cebu Coliseum.
The Niños are in the thick of preparations for the upcoming season of the Liga Pilipinas.
The three PBA teams are also preparing for the prestigous All-Filipino Cup of the PBA.
The PBA teams that will be visiting Cebu are the Alaska Aces, the revamped Powerade Tigers and the Meralco Bolts.
According to MLKP coach Raul “Yayoy” Alcoseba, his wards are raring to do good in the very same tournament where they failed to get a single victory last year.
The Niños have also tabbed two reinforcements for this competition in 6-foot-8 center Dovan Sullivan, formerly of the Asean Basketball League, and former pro Ramsey Williams.
They are also set to welcome new point guard Argel Mendoza, formerly of the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals, to play alongside the core led by Stephen Padilla, Nat Cruz, Abby Santos, Bruce Dacia and Ian Saladaga.
The Aces will be starting their post-Tim Cone era after the much-loved head coach parted ways with the team and landed a gig with the BMEG Derby Ace Llamados.
The Tigers are also raring to show their fangs with a revamped squad bannered by top picks JV Casio and Marcio Lassiter. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
