Edsa reblocking postponed in time for Obama visit, INC event
MANILA, Philippines–There will be no road reblocking works on Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) until after the two-day state visit of President Barack Obama on April 28.
Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chief Francis Tolentino said this will be to avoid traffic jams in the country’s major thoroughfare as Obama visits the Philippines.
In a report by the state-run Philippine News Agency, Tolentino said that the postponement was also made in anticipation of an Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) event.
The INC’s evangelical mission at SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City will be held on Saturday.
The event is expected to draw about a million of devotees, thus causing heavy traffic in areas near the Pasay mall.
