QUEZON CITY, Philippines–Burglars broke into two Quezon City houses in separate incidents during the Holy Week and made off with nearly half a million pesos in valuables.

The first break-in occurred in the apartment of graphic artist Rohvel Yumul, 39, at Forest Hill Subdivision in Barangay Gulod, Novaliches, while the victim was away. The burglary probably happened between Wednesday and Maundy Thursday, said police investigator Fernando Tanghay.

Yumul reported losing a total of P185,000 worth of gadgets, collectible toys, clothing and shoes. Police said the burglars entered the apartment by destroying the front door.
