MANILA, Philippines – The country is expected to have cloudy skies, rainshowers and thunderstorms this Black Saturday, the country’s state weather bureau said.

“The whole country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening,” Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its 24-hour forecast.

The gloomy weather is attributed to the easterly winds particularly affecting northern Luzon, Pagasa added.

Pagasa said moderate to strong winds from the northeast would affect the eastern section of central and southern Luzon and over eastern Visayas.

The coastal waters in these areas will be moderate to rough, Pagasa added.

Meanwhile, light to moderate winds from the east to northeast will affect the rest of Visayas and Luzon, Pagasa said.

Winds from the north to northwest will affect Mindanao with slight to moderate seas, Pagasa added.
