Tens of thousands travel by sea this Holy Week

MANILA, Philippines—Tens of thousands of Filipino sea travellers were recorded in various ports across the country on Good Friday, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) tweeted.

As of 3 p.m. on Friday, the PCG said 44,858 passengers arrived in the different ports nationwide.

At 10 p.m. on Maundy Thursday, the PCG recorded 77,830 sea passengers.

In a radio report, PCG spokesperson Lieutenant Commander Arman Balilo said the bulk of passengers came from Central Visayas with over 20,000, followed by Western Visayas with over 8,500.
