MANILA, Philippines—A magnitude 4.8 earthquake jolted parts of Surigao del Sur before noon Tuesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said Tuesday.
In its latest earthquake bulletin, Phivolcs said that the earthquake, which is tectonic in origin, struck 88 kilometers south of Tandag in Surigao del Sur.
It said intensity III was felt in Tandag and intensity II in San Miguel, Surigao del Sur.
Phivolcs said it does not expect damages or aftershocks.
