MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine National Railways (PNR) would have limited operations during the Holy Week, it said in a statement on Monday.
The railways would only operate until 7:30 p.m. on Maundy Thursday, April 17, while there will be no operations on Good Friday, April 18, and Black Saturday, April 19, PNR said in its statement posted on the Philippine Information Agency Facebook account.
The railways would resume operations on Easter Sunday, April 20, but will not open for a 5 a.m. trip, the PNR said.
It will resume regular operations on Monday, April 21, it added.
Meanwhile, PNR General Manager Joseph Dilay said in the statement that they would deploy additional staff and facilities during the Lenten season to ensure the safety of commuters.
The PNR would also undergo maintenance work while it is closed for the Lenten break, Dilay added.
