MANILA, Philippines—A suspect in the mauling of actor Vhong Navarro was prevented Monday morning from leaving the country after Bureau of Immigration officials at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport accosted him, Inquirer Radio 990AM reported.
Ferdinand Guerrero, who was accused of helping Cedric Lee beat up Navarro last January, was about to board Cebu Pacific Flight 5J 108 bound for Hong Kong when he was interrogated by Immigration officials who recognized him from the lookout bulleting order (LBO) issued by the Department of Justice against Lee and Denice Cornejo’s camp.
The plane was to leave for Hong Kong at 5:30 a.m. and because of the stir created by the move of the Immigration staff, Guerrero had to eventually leave the airport.
While an LBO cannot restrict a person from leaving the country, it has compelled people on an LBO list trying to fly out of the country to turn back because of the unwarranted attention it brings to them once they are accosted.
Last Saturday, there were reports that Lee booked a flight to Dubai. The booking was canceled, however, after news about his flight broke out.
