MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine National Police (PNP) is banking on Manny Pacquiao’s fight on Sunday to keep the streets devoid of crime.
PNP spokesperson Senior Supt. Theodore Sindac told INQUIRER.net that they are “looking forward” to a zero crime rate on Sunday as the boxing icon faces Timothy Bradley at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas .
However, Sindac said they will no longer be holding a free viewing at the PNP headquarters like in previous years.
“We need out police on the streets to secure the peace during this event,” he said.
The spokesperson said they do not have any special security arrangement for Sunday and have yet to receive any crime incident report as of 11 a.m.
