More Edsa repair projects set this weekend

MANILA, Philippines —The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) warned of five road repair and reblocking projects along Edsa this weekend.

In a post in its Twitter account on Friday, the MMDA said the following road reblocking and repair projects by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) would start on April 11 to April 14 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. in the following areas:

  • Along Edsa in front of Urdaneta Village, Ayala (Southbound, 5th lane), Makati City
  • Along Edsa between Pasay Road and Magallanes (Southbound, 5th lane), Makati City
  • Along Edsa between Taft Avenue and Park Avenue (Southbound, 5th lane), Pasay City
  • Along Edsa before Aurora tunnel (Southbound, 5th lane), Pasay City
  • Along Edsa before J.P. Rizal ramp (Northbound, 4th lane), Makati City

The DPWH has targeted for rehabilitation 80,000-square meters of Edsa under a P230-million concrete reblocking project. It has finished working on 50,000 sq m.

The repairs on the southbound lane would start on Holy Tuesday (April 15) and last until Good Friday (April 18). Work on the northbound lane, on the other hand, would begin on Good Friday and end on Monday, April 21.
