After North Korea’s Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un persecuted his own uncle, Jang Song-taek, another official, has been put to the fire.
In a report from the Telegraph of the United Kingdom, O Sang-hon, an alleged supporter of Jang, was executed through one unusual method, death by flamethrower.
Reports, however, were not clear whether O’s death pyre was made with a public audience.
South Korea’s Chosun Ilbo newspaper was the first to report the incident.
North Korea burnt O as he had followed orders of Jang, who was described as an enemy of the state, to turn the ministry into a personal security force to safeguard the latter’s business dealings, the newspaper said.
In December last year, North Korea executed Kim Jong Un’s uncle as a traitor for trying to seize supreme power, a stunning end for the leader’s former mentor, long considered the country’s No. 2.
Reports said that Jang Song Thaek and other convicted officials were stripped and fed to over a hundred starving dogs.
