MANILA, Philippines — The Senate committee on urban planning, housing and resettlement has issued a subpoena to detained businessman Delfin Lee to attend its next hearing into the housing loan scam involving Globe Asiatique (GA) Realty Holdings Corp.
Lee, owner of GA, was invited at Tuesday’s hearing of the committee but he was only represented by his lawyers.
During the hearing, committee chairman Senator JV Ejercito announced that Lee will be subpoenaed by the committee to its next hearing.
Former Vice President Noli de Castro, who was chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) when the alleged housing scam involving GA took place, was among the resource persons present during Tuesday’s hearing.
