MANILA, Philippines — Former Vice President Noli de Castro and some victims and ghost buyers of Globe Asiatique (GA) housing projects appeared at a Senate hearing on Tuesday.

De Castro was the chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) when the alleged housing scam involving GA Realty Holdings Corp. headed by detained businessman Delfin Lee took place.

Other resource persons invited to attend the hearing of the Senate committee on urban planning, housing and resettlement chaired by Senator JV Ejercito were Home Development and Mutual Fund president and chief executive officer Darlene Marie Berberabe, officials of HUDCC, Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB), and Land Registration Authority in Pampanga.

The hearing was initiated in the Senate to shed light on the housing loan scam that victimized several home loan applicants of GA.
