MANILA, Philippines—A 4.8-magnitude earthquake hit Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro at 1:18 a.m. Tuesday, according to a bulletin issued by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Phivolcs said the tremor was of tectonic origin.
It said no damage was expected.
No aftershocks were also expected.
