Tropical Storm Domeng nearing Davao City
MANILA, Philippines—Tropical Storm Domeng (international name: Peipah) is nearer the country, spotted as of 4 a.m. Monday 880 kilometers east of Davao City, according to the state weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, or Pagasa.
On Sunday at 4 p.m. it was tracked 1,020 km east of General Santos City. It entered the Philippine area of responsibility Sunday night.
Pagasa said “Domeng” has maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour and gusts of 80kph while moving west northwest at 15 kph.
Mindanao, Eastern Visayas and Cagayan Valley will have cloudy skies with scattered light rainshowers and thunderstorms.
Metro Manila and the other parts of the Philippines will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms most probably in the afternoon or evening.
