CAVITE—A couple waiting for their daughter in a gasoline station was ambushed by unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle on Thursday.
The shooting happened around 7:40 a.m. on a roadside Shell gas station in Barangay Tabon 1, Kawit town, Cavite province.
The victims, Juan Espinola and wife Julieta, both 51, were standing outside their car waiting for their daughter, a college student living in Las Piñas City, police said.
PO3 John Paulo Mellona, of the Kawit police, said two gunmen arrived, approached the couple and shot them several times. Julieta, who is into money lending, died on the spot. Juan, a former employee of a still unidentified politician, died in a hospital later. Maricar Cinco, Inquirer Southern Luzon
